How an event works
Ditch or Date is not a dating agency – we simply arrange a venue and invite up to 20 single people of both sexes to come along and meet new people. At a Ditch or Date event you will enjoy a totally new dating experience in a venue booked exclusively for our use. Here's how it works:
- Registration takes place between 7.30 and 8.00 pm when you will be given a badge with your first name on it and a ‘score' card.
- Your host will give a short welcome and a brief explanation.
- Ladies will sit at a numbered table and then the men will rotate from one table to the next after spending 3 / 4 minutes in the company of each lady. Your host will signal when it is time to move on.
- There will be a couple of bar breaks during the night so you can recharge your batteries!
- At the end of the event you will hand your score card to the host, having marked on it whether you would like to ‘ditch', ‘date' or ‘maybe' give another chance to, each of the people you have met.
- You are then free to stay and enjoy the venue and chat with anyone else at the event as the bar will be open til late
- Within 24 hours you will receive notification of your ‘hot' and ‘warm' matches and given their email addresses. The rest is up to you!!
- We also have a ‘friends’ choice now so if you wold prefer to have someone as a friend then you have that choice

Which event is for me?
Speed Dating

- The event will be split into 2 rounds with a 20 minute break between each round.
- At the end of the event you will hand your score card to the host, having marked on it whether you would like to ‘ditch', ‘date' or ‘maybe' give another chance to, each of the people you have met.
- You are then free to stay and enjoy the venue and chat with anyone else at the event.
- Within 48 hours you will receive notification of your ‘hot' and ‘warm' matches and given their email addresses. The rest is up to you!!

Singles Parties
Ditch or Date Singles Parties are slightly different to our straightforward speed dating events but just as exciting and fun!
A singles party incorporates up to 100 people within one event – plenty of chances to meet and flirt with as many single people as you can handle! The night is made up of a couple of initial ice-breaker activities followed by mini speed dating. What's that you're wondering?!
Mini speed dating is similar to speed dating but you take control of your own matches instead of us taking away score sheets and doing it for you the next day. You still get 3 minutes to chat to each girl / guy that is there but instead of filling in a matches sheet you are given ‘DATE CARDS'. If you fancy someone then give them a ‘date card' with your contact details on or if you are feeling shy then hand it to one of our hosts to pass on for you.
Bring along a photo of yourself and put it up on our ‘dating wall'. This allows people to leave ‘dating cards' for you.
We also have spot prizes to give away at the end of the night ranging from a complementary cut and blow-dry from a leading city centre salon, to meal vouchers for two at some of the area's most stylish restaurants.
With all of this to be had you just have to stay single for one more night!
