If they can’t make it you can rearrange, but it begins the conversation on a good note and shows that you are interested in meeting up. If you don’t want to jump straight in with arranging something then make sure there is a point to your message. Make a link back to the speed dating event, comment on something you discussed, and suggest a way forward from there. It is a fine line between decisive and pushy, and you need to get it right if you don’t want to lose out.
