Speed Dating In Northern Ireland: What Not To Talk About

Speed dating in Northern Ireland can boost confidence levels and allow you to attend a safe, professionally organised event. This can’t always be said for other forms of dating which is just one of the reasons that speed dating is so great. But, what are the rules of conversation in speed dating?

When it comes to speed dating UK wide the rules of conversation are mainly just to have one! It is not a good idea to sit in silence – this will not give a good impression of you to the person sitting across from you. It will not let them see your personality or work out whether they like you or not. So talking is essential. But there are some things that it is best not to talk about when speed dating. One of these is work. Of course you can say what you do for a living (it’s a good idea in fact) but don’t talk about it much more than that. It’s just probably not too interesting (even if you love it!). Neither should you talk about what you earn. If you are bragging that is very off putting, and even if you aren’t it’s not a polite conversation topic to begin with. And definitely don’t ask the person you are talking to how much they earn. Something else to avoid on this first date is religion. Getting into a religious debate when you only have four minutes or so to chat won’t win you any favours, and possibly won’t get you any matches either.
